  • Potassium thiocyanate (KSCN) solution

  6. Add Hydroxylamine Hydrochloride:

    • To the test solution, add a few milliliters of hydroxylamine hydrochloride solution [(NH2OH)HCl]. This solution is added to reduce any iron present in the ferric form (Fe³⁺) to the ferrous form (Fe²⁺).
  7. Add Thioglycolic Acid:

  8. Add Potassium Thiocyanate:
